Trans Pacific Assurance Limited (TPAL) has partnered with Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF) youSave and Our Telekom's M-Selen to make premium payments for TrigaCash, our new Parametrics Insurance (Climate Risk) product, easily accessible nationwide.
The partnership allows Solomon Islanders to pay for TrigaCash directly from their M-SELEN wallet using the M-SELEN App or by dialing *123#, giving families, farmers, fishers, and small business owners a simple way to protect their livelihoods against cyclones, heavy rainfall, and drought.
WHAT IS PARAMETRICS INSURANCE?
It is weather index-based insurance aimed to help our farmers, fisherfolk, and small businesses after loss of income or earning opportunity due to adverse weather conditions like excess rainfall, high wind speed, and cyclones.
WHO IS IT DESIGNED TO HELP?
Farmers, Fisherfolks, market vendors, small businesses, members of the Pacific Disability Forum (PDF) and Social Welfare Schemes. It is designed to give you extra financial support immediately after adverse weather events.
WHAT DOES IT PROTECT ME AGAINST?

Heavy Rainfall cover: Income loss due to heavy Rainfall spell.

Drought cover: Income loss due to lack of rainfall.

Cyclonic storm cover: Income loss due to high cyclonicwind speed.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Insurance cover of SBD 2,000 will cost SBD 160

Insurance cover of SBD 4,000 will cost SBD 320.
The policy has a 1-month cool-off period, meaning it will not cover triggering events occurring within 30-days of the commencement of the policy.
